French-based Evolis develops, manufactures, and sells printers and software for personalizing cards/identifiers. For over 20 years since its inception, it has created a range of desktop printers well-received by the market and users.
HID Global, a part of ASSA ABLOY, acquired Fargo, a producer of identity solutions including card printers, in 2006. Evolis, a longstanding competitor of HID in this market, will now join HID’s stable, potentially leading to market dominance. The expected value of the transaction is approximately EUR 230 million.”
