During May 2022, Entrust were excited to announce availability of the nShield 5 HSM – FIPS 140-3 validated and Common Criteria Level 4+ certified HSM product line. Along with achieving these industry milestones, the nShield 5 offers many advanced capabilities.
After more than 8 years in the market, Entrust have made the decision to retire the nShield XC product line from service.
Customers should begin planning for a migration to the nShield 5, which will provide features such as multi-tenancy, and firmware accelerated post-quantum cryptography over the next year.
The End of Life of the nShield XC range of HSMs is in effect from October 31, 2025.
Units will then be covered by Mainstream Support until December 31, 2027, after which Entrust will no longer provide firmware updates (except in the circumstances where the product is impacted by a Security Advisory released by Entrust) for the nShield XC.
Beyond December 31 2027, a further 1 year of discretionary Extended Support may be available on request.
